When commissioned to co-deliver a major Transport Scotland audit, Waterman turned their Glasgow office into a cross-disciplinary hub.

With only two weeks’ notice, Waterman Group integrated effectively with PwC and Turner & Townsend – doubling the capacity of their Glasgow office, coordinating workflows, and integrating across IT systems.

But this was as much an interpersonal challenge as it was a construction one, bringing together a diverse range of professionals from three very different firms.

Through human-centred management and a "one team" ethos, Waterman’s were able to facilitate smooth bonding under the Performance Audit Group 2018 brand. This encompassed both hard and soft integration: everything from ensuring the provision of a shared office space to assigning all team members a dedicated email address and website.

Ultimately, the Performance Audit Group 2018 successfully delivered a major audit of all 3,145km of trunk road managed by Transport Scotland. This was made possible through effective team building and pooling of company resources, enabling the team to focus on the task at hand.
