Gender equality in engineering is still far from reality. According to a recent UN progress report, at the current rate, we won’t achieve gender equality for 300 years, and it could take 140 years to reach equal representation in leadership roles.

Furthermore, the latest figures from EngineeringUK show a concerning decline in the number of women in engineering and technology roles, dropping from 16.5% to 15.7% over the past year, with the decline being particularly pronounced among women aged 35-44, the age when many typically transition into leadership positions.

The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) Emerging Professionals are hosting an industry wide workshop to understand:

🟧 Why so many women are leaving the engineering profession
🟧 What actions are needed to remove the barriers to gender equality in leadership

Through a mix of panel discussions and interactive workshops, we’ll uncover the barriers to female leadership in engineering and identify practical steps for creating a more inclusive workplace.
