INTELLIGENT INFRASTRUCTURE - HOW SMART TECHNOLOGY CAN BE INTEGRATED INTO SOCIETY

ACE Emerging Professionals London & South East and RTPI Thames Valley Young Planners, are proud to host a webinar: Intelligent infrastructure: How smart technology can be integrated into our society. This event is supported by Savills.

We will be joined by three industry experts to discuss how digital technology will shape the way we design our built-environment and the lessons already learned from innovation in informing the future requirements for intelligent infrastructure. David Bainbridge is a Planning Director at Savills, Harry Cross is a Senior Transport Planner at Paul Basham Associates and Llewelyn Morgan leads innovation at Oxfordshire County Council.

Annabel Le Lohé, vice-chair of the RTPI Thames Valley Young Planners Network and chair of the ACE Emerging Professionals London & South East, will be fielding the Q&A section of the webinar. Attendees can send in questions in advance or during the webinar.

David Bainbridge is a Planning Director at Savills, primarily based in their Oxford office. David started his planning career in 1998 in East Cambridgeshire and has headed west since with stints in Northampton and Milton Keynes. David advised clients on the planning for development on strategic land and residential-led development across the Oxford-Cambridge Arc. This involves discussions with clients, consultants and wider stakeholders on infrastructure provision and seeking to future-proof development where possible. The issue of what infrastructure, where and when is fundamental to the delivery of new communities.

Harry Cross is a Senior Transport Planner at Paul Basham Associates and helps to run the Oxford office where he project manages a variety of teams to support a mix of both private and public sector schemes across multiple disciplines. Born and raised in the area, Harry is well aware of the transport infrastructure in Oxfordshire, as well as the opportunities and constraints it can present with regards to future planning considerations. Harry will be exploring about the great opportunities for intelligent infrastructure to better inform the planning system and how we design transport systems and how will this affect access and layout consideration.

Llewelyn Morgan leads a service area within Oxfordshire County Council that leads on Innovation for the Council. The Service has been built up by Llewelyn and colleagues, starting as a small outward focused Research and Innovation team, leading on developing innovative strategies and projects in Transport and Environment it is now broadening its scope to encompass challenges in areas such as Social Care, Education, Public Health supporting these directorates to work collaboratively on innovative solutions to long held or increasing problems.
