ACE Cymru | Wales has recently responded to two Senedd consultations on behalf of ACE members: the priorities for the Climate Change, Environment, and Infrastructure Committee and the Economy, Trade and Rural Affairs Committee.
The two consultations were devised as ways for the committees to set out their own priorities in the years ahead as part of their key role scrutinising the activity of the Welsh Government. Building on ACE’s open letters to the candidates and political parties in Wales, released before the elections in May, the responses form a key part of ACE’s engagement strategy in the country.
ACE’s head of policy, Guto Davies, said, “We recognise the important role Senedd Committees have in ensuring effective policy making and scrutiny, and as such, look forward to working with Senedd members to ensure the views of our members are taken into account. Our members are vital to unlocking wider post-pandemic recovery.”
As well as showcasing member work and expertise on Net Zero, placemaking and procurement, the responses also highlight industry best-practice and innovation, such as the Construction Innovation Hub’s (CIH) Value Toolkit.
Commenting on the responses, ACE Cymru | Wales chair, Piers Burroughs (Burroughs) said: “We made the case that members in Wales are the delivery partners of choice for the Welsh Government and local authorities, and look forward to further opportunities for constructive engagement.”
