#NAW2023: CELEBRATING “SKILLS FOR LIFE”

National Apprentice Week 2023 takes place 6 to 13 February 2023.

National Apprenticeship Week 2023 is the 16th annual celebration of apprenticeships.

Bringing together businesses and apprentices across the UK to showcase the positive impact that apprenticeships make to individuals, employers and the wider economy, the national campaign is now firmly established as a key date for employers in our sector.

This year’s theme is “Skills for Life” and the week will reflect on how apprenticeships can help individuals to develop the skills and knowledge required for a rewarding career and help businesses to develop a talented workforce that is equipped with skills for the future.

ACE will be sharing a range of related content across its channels this week. This includes a panel discussion from six apprentices and former apprentices led by ACE’s emerging professionals network, and a blog from People group lead, Lara Potter (Arcadis). We will also share some case studies sourced via the Welsh Apprenticeship Alliance (WAA).

ACE’s People advocacy group will hold its regular meeting on 8 February 2023 at 10am. This is an opportunity to hear from the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education about their ongoing reforms and their recently published Climate Change and environment skills strategy. Also on the agenda are discussions around engaging with and encouraging apprenticeship opportunities. Get in touch with the people policy lead Andrew Gladstone-Heighton to find out more and get involved.

As always it will be getting involved on social media – make sure you tag your company’s involvement with #NAW2023.

Commenting on the launch of National Apprenticeship Week, Claire Clifford, director of people, skills and culture at ACE said: “The national campaign is a great opportunity for members to celebrate their own apprenticeship success stories and demonstrate that they’re a great option for future recruits. I’d urge all businesses across the sector to get involved in any way they can.”

Members interested in the week can find out more at the dedicated website where they can also download a company toolkit with social media content, logos, and much, much more.
