Green Infrastructure Week is now less than two weeks away.
Highlighting the technology and approaches that will deliver some of our biggest gains in our transition to Net Zero, the week delivers insight and commentary for the whole ecosystem of people and organisations involved in the design and delivery of green infrastructure – everyone from public and private sector clients, through to developers and investors.
ACE – along with sister organisation the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) and our magazine Infrastructure Intelligence – are a partner for the week and will be hosting a number of free-to-attend online events, including a webinar on Net Zero roads with National Highways, and a keynote session on the opportunity for offshore wind.
Webinar: Net Zero roads – Wednesday 27 April at 12.00pm
Chaired by Andy Bell (Ramboll and chair of ACE’s transport group), the panel also features Tim Chapman (Arup), Angela Halliwell (National Highways), Andrew Weaver (Copper Consultancy) and Guto Davies (ACE). Together they will explore how we can deliver Net Zero Roads.
Webinar: Making the most of offshore wind – Friday 29 April at 9.00am
Chaired by editor Andy Walker (Infrastructure Intelligence), the discussion will focus on the opportunity for offshore wind, given a huge boost following the publication of the Government’s Energy Strategy. Joining Andy are Lorna Bennet (Offshore Renewable Energy Catapult), Jamie Gordon (BECG), James Theobalds (Arup) and Louise Thibierge (Blue Gem Wind). Book your free place now.
Webcast: Is Net Zero achievable for the Construction Industry? – Premieres Wednesday 27 April
Hannah Ducas (structural engineer, WSP) and Diego Padilla-Philipps (technical director, WSP) discuss what Net Zero means for the construction industry and how the challenge is being picked up by the sector, in the next episode of ACE Emerging Professionals webcast series, Fresh Perspectives. Premieres at 12.00pm on Wednesday 27 April on YouTube, or it can be viewed below.
As well as ACE and EIC, Green Infrastructure Week brings together 16 other organisations, with a number of events taking place online. Browse their website for additional free-to-attend webinars and keynotes on carbon capture and storage, EV vehicles, green finance and investment, nuclear energy, bioenergy, and hydrogen.
ACE member AECOM is the principal sponsor for the week.
