The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) and the Environmental Industries Commission (EIC) has launched a new call for insights on the sector’s current innovation landscape. The findings will lead to the development of an insights paper, due to be published in March 2024.
Rapid technological innovation means that the sector is in a transitory period as new technologies emerge and either replace or embed themselves amongst existing technologies, resulting in a range of opportunities and challenges.
ACE and EIC members are in a unique position wherein they are both contributing to and benefiting from the emergence of new technologies, as they adapt their workflows and share these benefits with clients.
Innovation is one of the major themes in ACE Group’s three-year Blueprint, with the acknowledgment that the unprecedented technological change we are seeing brings with it challenges around cost, awareness, and adoption, meaning that the sector often experiences a fragmented and inconsistent innovation landscape.
By the end of the Blueprint period, the ACE and EIC are aiming to see improved conditions for supporting the UK sector in becoming a stronger player in an internationally competitive market for emerging technologies, and this new project forms a significant part of our objectives.
The ACE Group has a pivotal role to play in supporting its members through this transformative journey. By fostering a culture of innovation, providing access to relevant training, and facilitating knowledge-sharing platforms, we can empower members to leverage technology effectively and navigate the dynamic technological landscape.
The survey will assess both the current state of play with regard to technology within member companies and how technology usage may change in the future.
