Ahead of built environment day at COP26 which takes place on Thursday 11 November, ACE shares how it will be covering a number of sessions which will be of interest to members.
Firstly, the official CLC event, Construction: The Built Environment kicks off with the premiere of a new film. Building a Greener Britain has been commissioned by the Construction Leadership Council (CLC) to showcase the cutting-edge sustainable methods the wider industry is adopting.
You’ll be able to follow this at the COP26 YouTube and it will form a large part of our live-tweeting of the day over on twitter.
The event itself will be co-chaired by Sarah Linnell of ACE member Cundall, a sustainability engineer and young professional, and will also feature the Prime Minister’s Net Zero champion, Andrew Griffith MP. ACE members Atkins and Costain, are among some of the business champions who will explore the major challenges they face, and share best practice. Find out more on our event page.
Following this, Sarah Prichard, chair of the ACE/EIC Net Zero group and managing director, UK of Buro Happold, will be participating in a podcast hosted by the New York Times and broadcast live from Glasgow. Asking whether Net Zero towns and cities are a pipedream? the session , which is moderated by Giles Whittell of Tortoise Media will also feature guests from Hitachi Energy, Hermes and the CBI. Watch for free online from 1.15pm.
