Our May Large Consultancy Group meeting was hosted at the lively UK Construction Week 2024 show in London. We enjoyed the buzzy atmosphere; it provided a dynamic backdrop for us all to network, catching-up with members as well as making new contacts.
Following the meeting, our chief executive officer, Kate Jennings and Barbour ABI’s managing director, David Buckley gathered with members to celebrate the newly published top 50 engineering consultancies report. This report was created by Barbour ABI with support from ACE and it was exciting to see that many of our large consultancy members are included in the top ranks of this new benchmarking publication.
WSP is at the top of the rankings in terms of work awarded in the last year, with 96 projects, totalling nearly £7.5bn in value. Curtins Consulting, Arup and Ramboll UK are also in the top five consultancies alongside the Walsh Group. The report also finds that over £52bn of projects were awarded to the top 50 firms in the last year, so while it’s not been the easiest of years, consultancies have shown great success in winning work.
On congratulating members, Kate Jennings said, “At the heart of the UK's economy lies the expertise and innovation of consultancy and engineering. The industry serves as the backbone of economic growth. It’s great to see so many of our members, and the wider sector, celebrated in this new publication.”
David Buckley also thanked the consultancies featured in the report and highlighted how through their collaboration with the wider construction supply chain, they are making the built environment better for all.
A big thank you to all our members who attended this special meeting and event at Construction Week ‘24. We hope you will all join us for the Large Consultancy Group’s next meeting, details to be announced soon.
