BOOK NOW FOR OUR LEVELLING UP AND SOCIAL VALUE ONLINE CONFERENCE

Following on from the successful Infrastructure Intelligence social value online conference in 2021, this year’s event, on Friday 13 May 2022 from 11am-1.15pm, will explore what social value means in practice in a sector that is often seen as leading the way in demonstrating the social benefit of its work.

The current wealth of community value being delivered through construction is significant but is not always effectively measured or calculated. This conference will further explore the latest best practice in delivering social value, including community engagement, and will look at how the sector needs to move beyond numbers and start telling a story about the value it delivers. This is particularly important given the government's levelling up agenda and plans for major infrastructure investment across the country.

The conference will also look at where social value sits in relation to the emerging ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) agenda the responsibilities of private and public sector clients in delivering sustainable social benefit to communities.

Attendees at this event will gain a better understanding of what social value means in practice, how best to measure it, how to promote it and how best to work in partnership and collaboration with clients and communities to make a difference.

The top line up of speakers at the conference includes leading experts and practitioners in the field of social value. Keynote speaker Jeremy Galpin, group social value consultancy lead at Costain, will set the scene for the event and talk about where he thinks the industry currently is on the key issues and also where the government and clients are positioned around this agenda.

Following the keynote speaker session, there will be two panel discussions. The first panel discussion will assess the current social value landscape, including procurement trends, government and client drivers for social value, bidding best practice and supply chain potential. The second panel discussion will look at demonstrating and measuring social value and going beyond the numbers and highlighting success. Each panel discussion will include a Q&A session where attendees can ask questions of the panellists.
