The Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) have shared details of a one-off ACE Insight webinar exploring intellectual property rights (IPR) and what construction professionals need to know to engage clients confidently as part of the procurement process.
As well as the recently launched Construction Playbook, the “IPR for Consultants” webinar will touch on issues such as contracts and standard clauses. Joining ACE chief executive Hannah Vickers on Tuesday 2 February 2021 will be a panel of experts who together will explore the challenges around IPR in this space and outline what consultants need to know.
Sheila Devine, growth and skills lead at the Department for Transport, will share an overview of an IPR guidance note she compiled for the government department. Margot Day, global director of risk and commercial law at Buro Happold, who also chairs ACE’s legal and commercial forum, will reflect on the main challenges facing consultants on IPR. Alex Cunliffe, head of contracts at Laing O'Rourke, will share the perspective from the contracting community and the challenges they face with IPR. Finally, Ian Rogers, head of intellectual property and technology law at Arup will run through a few worked examples of IPR.
With such a knowledgeable and expert panel, insight and enlightenment is guaranteed and the free webinar will conclude with a Q&A session, giving attendees a rare opportunity to ask a high-profile panel of experts for advice in this area.
