Consultancy and engineering firms that can demonstrate their commitment to an inclusive and diverse workforce are being asked to apply for a key award in this year’s Consultancy and Engineering Awards.
The Inclusive Employer of the Year category in this year’s awards will be presented to a consultancy firm working in the built environment that has not only championed the continual development of its people but one that has also harnessed a truly diverse workforce with leading commitments to equality and inclusion.
This category in the annual awards programme organised by the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) will be judged by ACE’s Emerging Professionals group, whose members range from those at the start of their careers to more experienced professionals, up to around 35 years old.
Entries for the award will need to demonstrate how an organisation’s strategy and policies support staff development, include a genuine commitment to supporting individuals both inside and outside of work and encourage agile working both in terms of location and hours.
The judges will also be looking for concrete examples of how an organisation’s culture enables staff to develop, paying particular attention to culture and values, recognises individual achievement and empowers emerging professionals to seek development opportunities, both around project management and for training.
Companies entering the award will also be asked to share how they have improved diversity and inclusion in recent years and provide two short staff testimonials in support of their application.
The Consultancy and Engineering Awards are supported by headline sponsors Bentley Systems and Griffiths & Armour, while Arcadis and WSP in the UK are category sponsors. Once again, Infrastructure Intelligence is a media partner and its editor Andy Walker is a member of the judging panel.
This year there are ten awards and a simplified entry process which will be open until Sunday 4 July 2021 at 6pm. Entrants to last year’s awards have already been contacted to arrange for their entries to be transferred into this year’s competition.
