Faithful+Gould has been appointed by National Highways to support its £2.5bn regional investment programme in the north of England.
The four year Project Controls Services contract win will see Faithful+Gould provide National Highways with confidence in project delivery, focusing on schedule and cost management across the north west, Yorkshire, north east, and Midlands regions.
The purpose of the multi-billion-pound programme is to deliver enhancement schemes which deal with issues around safety, congestion, and capacity. This includes upgrading A roads, motorway junctions and link roads, as well as providing new carriageways for motorways and A roads.
Gurtej Golar, National Highways client director for Faithful+Gould, said: “This is a really exciting appointment for us to support greater connectivity and transport mobility in this region to make positive socio-economic change. The appointment equally provides huge opportunity for our people to experience working in the highways sector to develop and grow capability, aligned to our project controls specific career development framework.
“The schemes to be delivered can be complex and varied, our role is to embed predictability and efficiency consistently, to enable successful delivery. We’ve been appointed not only because we have an incredible track record of delivering similar services for National Highways, but also because we demonstrated our understanding of delivering strategic outcomes that benefit the local communities as part of our role.
“We will harness our existing experience of working with National Highways since 2004 in two ways. Firstly, we will bring and share best practice from other parts of the sector such as HS2 and Network Rail where we provide a similar service using own maturity matrix. Secondly, we will draw on our technical leadership group – a network of subject matter experts – to resolve complex issues to continually raise the bar.”
The scope of work will be delivered from offices across the Faithful+Gould network including Nottingham, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Stockton, London, Cardiff and Bristol.
There will also be involvement from Atkins, a member of the SNC-Lavalin Group, as Faithful+Gould will draw on its partners and supply chain to be able to deliver the service.
