GLEEDS NAMED AS ONE OF UK’S BEST PLACES TO WORK

An international property and construction consultancy has been named as one of the UK’s Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing (2023) by Great Place to Work®, the global authority on workplace culture.

Gleeds was one of just a handful of businesses from the built environment to feature in the coveted list, scoring highly across all wellbeing questions in surveys, analysed by culture experts from Great Place to Work.

The workplace culture experts assessed thousands of surveys before compiling the best places to work list, focusing on people’s holistic experiences of wellbeing at work.

Commenting on Gleeds’ latest accreditation, Kate Williams, UK people director, said that having recently been recognised as a Great Place to Work in the UK, the firm had now gone one step further by finishing in the top 50% of companies for Wellbeing in the ‘Super Large’ category.

“Gleeds firmly believes in the importance of promoting and supporting its employee’s wellbeing, so it’s rewarding to see that our actions are having a positive impact on staff across the board,” she said.

The surveys asked employees to comment on how their company supports their work-life balance, sense of fulfilment, job satisfaction, psychological safety and financial security.

At Gleeds, 87% of respondents said they can be themselves at work, with the same number reporting that colleagues genuinely care about each other.

Asked why Gleeds is unique, staff said that ‘…the wellbeing of its people truly matters to the company’, and that, despite its ambitious growth plans, the business demonstrates a 'genuine desire to promote wellbeing’ amongst employees.

Anthony Cork, managing director of Gleeds UK, said it is proven that employee productivity increases when people are happy at work, so it “goes without saying” that keeping morale and motivation high is vitally important.

He said: “Gleeds recognises that its people are its most important asset and invests in them accordingly – prioritising wellbeing and cultivating a healthy environment where people look forward to coming to work, confident that they will be given the support they need to be themselves.”

Benedict Gautrey, managing director of Great Place to Work® UK said people are at the heart of every organisation.

“Looking after their wellbeing should be much more than a package of impressive perks on a careers website,” he said.

“Now in our second year of the UK's Best Workplaces™ for Wellbeing list, we’re once again able to showcase the leading organisations providing cultures conducive to outstanding psychological, physical and social wellbeing.

“A huge congratulations to Gleeds for making this prestigious list.”
