GRIFFITHS & ARMOUR NOW AN AON COMPANY

Liverpool-headquartered Griffiths & Armour has been acquired by global professional services firm Aon.

The acquisition, which officially completed on January 1, supports Aon’s strategy to expand its regional presence in the UK and Ireland.

Insurance broker Griffiths & Armour is now trading as Griffiths & Armour, an Aon company.

As a part of Aon, Griffiths & Armour will provide clients with a greater breadth of solutions across both Aon and Griffiths & Armour.

With more than 200 employees, Griffiths & Armour is known for its specialist expertise in professional indemnity insurance and strength in general insurance broking.

As part of the acquisition, Aon has committed to Griffiths & Armour's Liverpool office at Princes Dock and its strong team in Liverpool, Manchester, Dublin and London.

Jane Kielty, UK CEO of Aon, said: “Griffiths & Armour is an outstanding business with an exceptional reputation in the market. Together we will focus on providing our clients with excellent, market-leading expertise and our complementary cultures and capabilities will create an unparalleled offering across the UK and Ireland.”

Carl Evans, chairman of Griffiths & Armour, said: “Joining the Aon family reflects our shared commitment to deliver exceptional client service, innovative solutions and maintain a culture built on trust and integrity.

“It will enable us to continue to deliver exceptional client service with an unwavering focus on securing the best outcomes for our clients, colleagues, and partners.”

Matt Donnelly, chairman of Griffiths & Armour, added: “This collaboration enables us to enhance our offering, extend our reach, and build on the strong foundations we’ve developed in our long history, creating new opportunities as we continue to innovate and lead in a rapidly changing industry.”

“We work across a range of sectors by combining deep market insight, long-term relationships, and end-to-end support to manage and minimise professional and business risk, as well as offering private client support to protect individuals’ most important personal assets.

While becoming part of Aon, the firm says its insurance solutions, advisory work, claims handling and risk management services will continue to be delivered as they have always been.

This includes its advisory role to the Association for Consultancy and Engineering (ACE) where it is sole advisor on PI insurance and takes part in ACE’s Legal and Commercial Group quarterly meetings.

Griffiths & Armour says it expects the change to only “strengthen and enhance” its role as one of the ACE’s strategic partners.
