HAVE YOUR SAY ON PLANS FOR SCOTTISH INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT

Companies and individuals working in Scotland have a unique opportunity to have their say on the future plans for Scottish infrastructure thanks to a roundtable event being organised by ACE Scotland on 12 November 2020.

The Scottish government is currently consulting on its Draft Infrastructure Investment Plan for 2021-22 to 2025-26 and ACE Scotland has been invited to provide a response. They are inviting members in Scotland to a roundtable discussion, led by ACE Scotland chair Stephen Munro and ACE’s lead policy manager Gareth Lonie, to shape the organisation’s input to this important consultation and draft a formal response.

The Draft Infrastructure Investment Plan sets out a clear vision for Scotland’s future infrastructure to support and enable an inclusive net zero emissions economy. The plan focusses on adopting and building on the recommendations of the Infrastructure Commission for Scotland’s Phase 1 report and sets out the government’s long-term vision for Scottish infrastructure, highlighting how it will choose the right future investments, and sets out a five-year programme of further improvements.

The government’s consultation paper https://www.gov.scot/publications/national-mission-local-impact-draft-in... seeks views on the ways it plans to implement the Infrastructure Commission for Scotland’s recommendations in the following areas:

  • The inclusion of natural infrastructure.
  • How we prioritise - the common investment hierarchy approach.
  • How we best assess the impact of proposed infrastructure.
  • How we might best assess the carbon impact of future plans.

The roundtable event, on Thursday 12 November 2020 at 1pm, is a great opportunity for businesses working in Scotland to help shape the future of Scottish infrastructure. If you would like to attend this roundtable, or require more information, please email Chetna Gorasia at cgorasia@acenet.co.uk
