Ramboll has appointed NLA expert panellist Rebecca Mortimore as UK science sector market lead. As an architect specialising in the design of science facilities, Mortimore comes with over twenty-five years’ experience in delivering complex science and translational research buildings.
Mortimore has led science teams at architectural studios including Hassell, NBBJ and Sheppard Robson, and holds extensive experience leading projects with university, institutional and commercial clients. Notable projects include the Henry Royce Institute for Advanced Materials at the University of Manchester and the BBSRC National Vaccinology Centre at The Pirbright Institute in Woking.
She is also a part-time visiting lecturer at the University of Westminster, a RIBA professional examiner and mentor, a co-chair of the LB Richmond and Wandsworth Design Review Panel, and sits on the NLA expert panel for science, technology and innovation.
Her role at Ramboll will include leading multi-disciplinary growth across the science sector and enhancing Ramboll’s engineering services and science consultancy offering, driven by her experience and creativity in how best to deliver scientific environments that aid the research and success of their occupants.
