In response to the crisis in Ukraine, RedR UK has launched an emergency appeal to help the organisation train aid workers delivering humanitarian assistance in Eastern Europe.
RedR UK provides training and technical support to NGOs, aid workers and communities responding to natural and man-made disasters all over the world. They are a charity that trains and supports aid workers and humanitarian organisations and have very close links with the engineering and construction industry.
The RedR Ukraine Emergency Appeal is aiming to raise £20,000 to train aid workers in essential skills which will help to save and rebuild lives in Ukraine and Eastern Europe. RedR’s expertise in the provision of shelter, protection, psychosocial support, personal safety and water, sanitation and hygiene will be invaluable in the efforts to help ease the suffering of the many Ukrainian refugees.
The situation in Ukraine is constantly evolving, but already the UN Refugee Agency estimates that refugees fleeing Ukraine number in the hundreds of thousands. RedR UK is planning to respond to the growing need for humanitarian assistance in Ukraine and Eastern Europe by providing support for humanitarians delivering aid and saving lives on the front line. This could include delivering training on topics such as shelter, protection, psychosocial support, personal safety, and water, sanitation, and hygiene.
