Turner & Townsend has opened a new office in Plymouth to support the growth of the business in the south west of England.
The global professional services business already employs over 460 people in the south west, including 40 in the Plymouth area, and has worked with clients in the region for over 30 years.
The firm says its new permanent base will enhance its service provision to current clients and is a strong statement of its strategic commitment to attract new clients across Devon, Dorset and Cornwall.
The new office is in the Genesis Building, on Union Street. Owned by social enterprise the Millfields Trust, the profits from leasing the office space are invested back into the local community through the Trust’s programme of regeneration projects.
Turner & Townsend is targeting new recruits in the region as it expands its service offering in project and programme management, project controls, procurement, cost and commercial management to support clients across real estate, infrastructure and defence.
Patricia Moore, UK managing director, Turner & Townsend, said: “Turner & Townsend has operated in the south west for over 30 years and this latest expansion represents our ongoing commitment to the people and businesses of Plymouth and the wider region. Having a permanent presence in the city will enable us to further enhance our service offering for clients across infrastructure, defence and real estate. As a business that is green, inclusive and productive at its core, the Genesis Building is a natural fit for us and we are pleased to be investing in the local community through the Millfields Trust social enterprise.”
